Moo Do Karate Academy
SaBom Nim Carlos Rodriguez has over 25 years experience in the martial arts. He currently holds the rank of 5th Dan, which was presented to him by Grandmaster Tong In Chang of the International Tang Soo Do Association. He has a Bachelors Degree in Education from Temple University. SaBom Nim Rodriguez is also a 13 year Veteran with the Philadelphia Probation & Parole Department having worked in various specialized and high risk units. He is currently assigned to the Anti-Violence City Wide 2 Unit, working the east section of the city as an armed officer. Along with serving warrants, SaBom Nim also conducts training's as a certified firearms instructor for the department.
.The Moo Do Karate Academy (MDKA) was founded to preserve the rich heritage of Tang Soo Do. The MDKA will provide the foundation for its members to gain an in-depth understanding into Tang Soo Do and the five values of Moo Do (History, Tradition, Discipline/Respect, Philosophy, Technique) through physical and mental training. The MDKA strives to provide its students with a well-rounded, quality-based program inclusive of the many aspects of Tang Soo Do and other disciplines. In addition, it will encourage growth of the spirit of martial arts within each of its members and teach conflict resolution on an external, and more importantly, internal basis through Tang Soo Do training.
The MDKA prides itself on ensuring consistency and technical accuracy in all areas throughout the Academy. It is expected that the members of the Academy strive to maintain the highest levels of proficiency. It is the responsibility of the Academy, as a whole, to ensure exemplary performance. The diverse philosophy and curriculum creates the atmosphere that allows each and every student to achieve their goals.
Our mission is to coach, motivate, and inspire those who have chosen martial arts as a path for positively transforming their lives. We emphasize the importance of mental focus and respect for self and others. Respect, Honor, and Discipline are stressed in our traditional martial arts training.
