Camden Healthy Start (CHS) is dedicated to improving the health of pregnant women, babies and families in Camden, New Jersey. Our mission is to reduce infant mortality and eliminate the racial and ethnic disparities that exist. In Camden, Black infants are twice as likely to die before their first birthday compared to all infants statewide. The table below represents the racial and ethnic disparities in infant mortality rates in the city of Camden compared to New Jersey as a whole.
