Neighborhood Center

At the Neighborhood Center, we are breaking the cycle of poverty by offering Academic, Athletic, and Arts programs for children and teenagers. Our programs provide a safe and fun space for children and teens to engage in activities that challenge them.

The Neighborhood Center offers a variety of programs.

Urban Community Farm
2015 witnessed the birth of our new Community Farm made possible by generous friends, donors, volunteers and partners from all walks of life and faith backgrounds. This is a program that makes us all very proud.

Child Care Learning Center
Year-round child care facility serving children two months – five years old. It is our aim to provide a safe, nurturing and healthy environment for children to engage in developmentally appropriate activities while still having fun.

After School And Teens
We offer arts and education programming to both children and teenagers. It challenges them to focus on homework, reading, athletics and the Arts. It also prepares our local teens for success during and after high school

Camp Kumbaya (Summer Enrichment Program)
One of the traditions of the Neighborhood Center is the provision of a “Summer Camp” each year. The program combines academics, faith formation, athletics, arts, and just plain fun! We work to ensure that the children are ready to be successful when entering their next grade level in September.

Sages Program
Sages Program is our senior adult program that aims to provide enrichment programs and supportive friendships for seniors in the community through fellowship. Our Sages meet twice a week to engage in fellowship, singing, Bible study and aerobics. Currently the program has fifteen members but with room to grow significantly.

Community Kitchen
Year-round that provides a hot, nutritious lunch, Monday – Friday 12:00-1:00 pm to all who come. Our aim is to be a consistent source for nutritious, sustainable, local food and to provide the meals in a safe, clean environment to our community of working families, children and adults living in food insecurity.
