The Rutgers Cancer Institute strives to prevent cancer before it starts.

The Rutgers Cancer Institute in partnership with ScreenNJ aim to increase screening for six (6) screenable cancers, to reduce cancer mortality rates, to reduce disparities, and to educate New Jersey residents about the importance of cancer prevention, screening and early detection.

We provide free educational workshops covering the following six screenable cancers: breast, cervical, prostate, lung, colorectal and skin. Our patient navigators with ScreenNJ assist unemployed, uninsured and underinsured New Jersey residents with obtaining necessary cancer screenings. Our licensed Clinical Respiratory Specialist provides educational workshops on Tobacco smoking and cessation.
